COVID-19 Update – Visitors

To all Carefor Hospice Cornwall patient and family members:

Carefor Hospice Cornwall has been closely following the developing situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the five Eastern Counties.  Effective immediately, Carefor Hospice Cornwall has implemented strict visiting limitations to ensure the safety of our staff, patients and family members.

Community Programs & Volunteer Services

At this time, all community-based programs and volunteer services are suspended until further notice.

Visitors of Patients in Hospice

We are asking each patient to identify TWO (2) non-rotating visitors be appointed while they reside in Hospice. Visiting hours are limited from 11:00AM to 7:00PM.

Designated visitors must be listed as an essential visitor and will be asked to complete a screening test upon each visit. Once screened by a staff member, we ask visitors to remain in the room of their loved one and do no go to any common areas. As the COVID-19 situation progresses, these limitations are subject to change.

Further Precautions

We recognize that this is an exceptionally challenging time for all families and caregivers. We encourage all visitors to self-screen before visiting Hospice. If you or a family member living in the same residence are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you please remain at home and report to the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. We encourage family and loved ones to also take advantage of technology to visit with loved ones remotely through phone calls and FaceTime when possible.

Any exceptions to these limitations must be approved by management.
